2015 Subaru Forester Car Camping Budget Build

If you've been following along with the cluster mess that was 2024, you'll remember that my fiancee played tag with a Deer a few months ago, that ended up making her trusty little Cruze a total loss.

Enter the Subaru. All Wheel Drive, enough cargo area that I actually fit in the back, and well, here we are, and since its the 2.5l engine I have absolutely no interest in modifying it for performance activities, which is a good thing (and it would be pointless).

Anyway, we had planned to get out of the house much more this year, anyway, and going forward in to 2026 hopefully being home as little as her PTO allows. As I now possess a skillset that allows me to quite literally work just about anywhere, working vacations are a real possibility for me.

So we're gonna turn this thing in to a mobile tent, caRV, whatever you want to call it, on a real serious budget, money will be spent where it should be, but I'll be scouring the interwebs for smoking deals on what I can, and reading tons of reviews on everything. With the hope of doing a few test camps in the not so distant future.

You do in fact just get a picture of the canvas this time, It's Christmas, and I'm still trying to get school paid off. Stay tuned, we'll get things going after the New Year, as long as the current upward trajectory continues.
